While stocking a cave with provisions for an impending typhoon, Gilligan cops an accidental whack to the head.

Whenever he opens his mouth from then on, the radio plays. When he turns his head the radio changes stations.

When the real radio gets broken, the castaways rely on Gilligan’s ‘radio mouth’ for updates on the path of the typhoon.

When the typhoon does hit the island, everyone flees into the cave stocked with provisions. They quickly realize not everyone will fit inside. Gilligan volunteers to be the person who stays outside during the typhoon clinging to a tree. One by one, each of the castaways emerges from the cave, feeling sorry for Gilligan and joining him holding on to the tree.

During a lightning strike the cave is destroyed. Everyone survives due to the decision to join Gilligan outside.
