While fishing in the lagoon, Gilligan reels in an old crate. When he and the skipper prize it open they discover inside is nothing but coconuts wrapped in newspaper.

Upon closer inspection they read an article on one of the newspaper pages that reveals one of the passengers onboard the missing SS Minow is wanted for murder.

When they both share the news with the others, everyone becomes a suspect and suspicious of their fellow islanders. In a group truth session, everyone admits they knew the victim, Randolph Blake, and had reason to dislike him.
They decide to reenact the crime with a facsimile of the real murder weapon, a speargun. What they happily discover is that the ‘murder’ was in fact an accident.

The trigger mechanism of the speargun was activated accidentally by the slamming of a door.
