Invitations are handed out to the Howell’s annual dance cotillion. Mr Howell is assigned the task of delivering them but doesn’t notice dropping one when he bumps into a tree.

Everyone receives their invitation except the Skipper. He naturally wonders why he is the only person on the island not invited and concludes he has been snubbed. Gilligan then decides if the Skipper is not going he also will not attend.

Everyone then decides to join the Skipper and Gilligan in a no-show. Instead they throw their own party. The Howell’s wonder what they have done to offend everyone. Gilligan then finds the skippers missing invitation.

The Howell’s have an argument and separate. The rest of the castaways device a plan to reunite them. They stage a fancy-dress party where everyone wears a mask. The plan works and the Howells are reunited.
